Kids Acquiring Real-life Education is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of at-risk youth through creativity and real-life experiences. Its sole purpose is to capture the minds of youth and encourage self-expression, respect, responsibility, and achievement in all walks of life. Operating as KARE 4 Kidz, the non-profit educational arts organization focuses on four areas - alternative education, community service, mentoring, and prevention - as pillars for growth and strengthening in self-respect, confidence, self-awareness, teamwork and personal accountability. We do this to aid in the development and transition of young, eager minds in to healthy, well-rounded, and confident minds of tomorrow's leaders.

             As a supplement to mainstream education, the program’s ideal participants are at-risk youth that are struggling in their day-to-day educational process. They may lack confidence, support, or simply need a boost of encourage or accountability. Our primary target is the child that may not see college as an attainable reality in his future; that may have a few behavioral issues that need to be addressed and re-directed; that may not have the desire or understanding of the importance of daily classroom attendance. We provide alternative education in the form of an artistic trade or skill that can be developed and used to build a strong foundation for the future.

              It is important that all the participants in our program understand the importance of self-development, accountability, and character; to understand that they have a duty and obligation to become productive participants in society. That’s why community service is a staple in our organizational programming. We believe that helping others serves a multitude of purposes. It teaches kids that giving of yourself is important and that monetary payment isn’t the only reward for hard work; to appreciate the reality that there may be others that are less fortunate than them; to build self-worth and individual growth as a result of serving others; to become humble and appreciative; most importantly to serve the community as a whole.

               Providing our kids with positive role models, supportive adults, and access to professional individuals that can give them insight and valid direction in future careers is perhaps the most valuable asset availed to our at-risk teens. Strong leadership and support are critical to the health development of any individual and KARE 4 Kidz wants to make sure that all our youth participants have the resources and personnel they need to assist them in planning and attaining their goals.

               Preventing youth from heading down pathways of self-destruction and controlling behaviors that may hinder their future success is very important to our process. As a result we have implemented several prevention programs designed to teach kids to recognize behaviors that can have a negative affect on their future success and provide them will tools for avoiding the road blocks cause by bad decision making. We want them to understand that their future success starts with the preparation that they make today. Each decision, each peer or acquaintance, and each day has implications on their achievements.
