Molly Nicholls
7th Grade Geography Teacher
Ms. Nicholls and her class contacted us
with a spirit of service. The students, after hearing
about the tragedy and the dire need for assistance,
immediately jumped into action. These middle school
students held a supply drive and gathered pounds and
pounds of materials to be donated to the student victims
of Hurricane Katrina. After days of preparation and
planning, decorating and arranging, organizing and
packing, they shipped more than 15 large boxes of
supplies to KARE 4 Kidz to be routed to the students in
need.
It is with
tremendous admiration and respect that we send thanks to
the students at Indian Ridge Middle School and Molly
Nicholls for demonstrating an amazing spirit of
kindness.

Bailey
and her mom contacted KARE 4 kidz shortly after hearing
about the students and children that were left with
nothing after Katrina ripped through their homes.
Bailey, a member of the NJ Girl Scouts, organized a
movement; a movement that would spur the creation of
their own service organization called HOPE. The group is
currently in the midst of a citywide donation drive in
support of the Gulf Coast student survivors.
HOPE...is
such an appropriate name for their organization. Not
only does it symbolize the spirit of rescue and
rebuilding for the Gulf Coast region, but it also sets a
tone for the spirit of our young people in America. It
says that despite what we might hear about the decay of
our moral fabric; despite what we might believe about
the state of young minds in America; despite what we
read about adolescent behavior and education; there is
HOPE. Bailey and her friends are a shining example of
what the youth of America really represent...HOPE!
Congratulations parents...you've done a great job. |
